In a time not so long ago, a new planet named ![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png){kind=small} zodion was created in a distant galaxy with the last vestiges of magic bestowed upon the Twelve; a planet created for the sole purpose of housing refugees from multiple planets— multiple galaxies— from the forces of the Rasalhague. It was the most the Twelve could do to escape as the last of their people, and the last who knew of the Rasalhague's true intentions, finding themselves left in dire need and powerless on a small, dark world.It was with the help of their loyal priests and followers that they managed a dowsing spell, meant to find those best suited to help build that new jewel from the ground up and bring them to their aid. But this magic was unsteady and difficult to understand— not everyone who came could stay, and it's unknown when or why they'd be sent back. The Twelve had failed on that new world once before; but it was a learning process of trial and error, and all they require is worship. Physical intimacy with another, providing the excess life energy they siphon off to build their power once more. The Rasalhague were not so easily swayed, however, and once they spread their net across the galaxies they were able to hone in on this new little planet and erase those who had escaped them once already. Their only desire is to consume all life; they had been crossed once before and now they are relentless to chase down those who had chased them from their home world. The Rasalhague hopped planet to planet to try and find a new life for themselves, but their greed and carelessness for their planet's life only brings them ruin and they grow larger with every race that joins them for fear of being eradicated with their world. Once discovered by scouts of the Rasalhague, the Twelve could do little before word got back to the main fleet. Their last ditch hope was to destroy the world they had created and the majority of the Rasalhague with it, escaping to an existing world. The Rasalhague's ruined home planet, ophiuchus. The thirteenth planet of the Twelve's home solar system, now filled only with the remains of their home worlds, destroyed one by one as the Rasalhague had worked their way down from Pisces to Aries, the planet closest to the twin suns. The united front of the Twelve's royal families had excommunicated the Rasalhague people from their world before they could completely kill their planet's life force, but they thought the damage had already been done. Furious, the Rasalhague had rampaged through their solar system and beyond, not realizing that their planet would sustain life ever again. It's pure chance that the Twelve would land here once more and find the liveable atmosphere below the surface, but they will make it work. They have to, for those they've dragged in to help fight their war.Beauty, strength, cunning, power— for any number of reasons, you're waking up far from home and deep below the surface in the labyrinthine paths that twist and turn from the water temple's crash landing site, with those who have arrived with you. The mark of the Twelve upon your body will throb all the while, but it is no brand— rather, it is a permanent plea; help this planet flourish once again, so that the Twelve can warn other worlds and galaxies of the threat the Rasalhague pose. All it requires is worship; sexual engagement with another to create an overflow of life force that the gods can siphon off for themselves. To save their people, your families— everyone.
